BAR NONE is a live performance cover band located in the State of Kuwait. We play a blend of rock and roll classics from five decades, with a bit of country, blues and jazz sprinkled in for good measure. Some of the artists covered by BAR NONE include: The Beatles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Eagles, ZZ Top, Jimi Hendrix, John Mellencamp, Eric Clapton, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Santana, and Dire Straits.
Formed in 2008, our unique and versatile style draws on the diverse experience and professional backgrounds of our band members. The perfect entertainment for your party or event, our goal is to provide our audience a live music performance that is professional, entertaining and a reminder of that favorite club back home.

A former member of the U.S. Army Band, Mike has a bachelor’s degree in Jazz Piano Performance from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL. Living in Kuwait for nearly 20 years, Mike has played piano at many of the local hotels and his voice is often heard on radio and TV commercials and promotional presentations.
Mike's musical influences include Chicago, Blood Sweat and Tears, and Dave Brubeck.
Born and raised in the Philippines, Elmer came to Kuwait in 1994. Elmer began playing the guitar at an early age, forming his first band in grade 7. While still in high school he played keyboards with a band that had a steady Saturday gig at a chic pub in Manila for two years.
Elmer has played with many bands over the years and lists The Allman Brothers, Roy Buchanan, Django Reindhart, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Ritchie Blackmore, Carlos Santana, and Rick Wakeman among his musical influences.
Yabet began playing the guitar in his native country of the Philippines where he was the rhythm guitarist with the band “OFF-ON” for two years. A bass guitarist as well, Yabet has played in several bands since coming to Kuwait, including the "Kidz No More Band" and "The Brothers Band".
Yabet’s musical influences include Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, The Eagles and Led Zeppelin
Benjamin began playing guitar more than fifteen years ago. Accomplished on both bass and rhythm guitar, Benjamin played professionally with several bands in the Philippines before coming to Kuwait.
He lists The Beatles, Deep Purple, Bon Jovi and Greenday among his favorite bands.
Jacq has been playing drums for more than twelve years. A self-taught musician, he is well versed in both Western and classical Indian music. Jacq has played drums with several bands, both in India and in Kuwait, including "Grassroute" in India and "Project Minus One" in Kuwait.
Jacq’s musical interests include Jazz as well as Rock and Roll.
Born in Manilla, Jumel received vocal instruction from a famous composer/arranger and performed in musical concerts and theater productions throughout the Philippines before coming to Kuwait. He studied Advanced Musical Theater at the British Academy of International Arts and is a member of the Ahmadi Music Group of Kuwait where he has held the lead role in such productions as The Mikado, Pirates of Penzance and West Side Story.
Jumel's broad musical interests include classical, opera, Broadway, pop and rock.
Raised in Oklahoma around her father’s western swing bands, Kym has participated in various choirs, singing groups and stage shows through the years. In addition to managing the band’s sound and lighting, Kym also serves as our Webmaster.
Her rather eclectic musical tastes include Rock, Jazz, Western Swing, and New Age.
The hardest working member of the band, Balajee is in charge of our “road crew”. From packing and loading the truck to unloading and assisting in set up at the venue, Balajee and his trained crew are invaluable to the professional quality of our performance.
Michael is the general manager of Expat Services Kuwait, providing help and information to expatriates living in Kuwait. With an MBA in marketing and finance from the University of Johannesburg. Michael is also the publisher of EEK!, a weekly e-magazine for Western minded expatriates.
